Who We Are
The Nigeria Safety Cadet Corps (NSC) is a nationwide voluntary youth organisation established to instil road safety culture among young Nigerians. The FUNAAB Command operates within the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, mobilising students as ambassadors of road safety.
We work in close collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the university administration to ensure that road safety principles are taught, practised, and championed both on campus and in the surrounding communities.
Our members undergo structured training in first aid, traffic management, public education, and emergency response, equipping them to save lives and change attitudes towards road safety across Nigeria.
Our Purpose
To promote a culture of road safety and responsible road use among youth, students, and communities through education, advocacy, and active service — reducing road traffic crashes and saving lives across Nigeria.
A Nigeria where every road user is educated, disciplined, and committed to safe road behaviours — where preventable road traffic fatalities become a thing of the past through consistent safety cadet engagement.
Discipline, Integrity, Service, and Excellence guide every cadet. We uphold respect for life, commitment to community, and the courage to champion road safety even when it is unpopular.
What We Do
We organise regular awareness campaigns on campus roads and in Abeokuta communities, educating pedestrians and drivers on safe road use, speed limits, and drink-driving hazards.
Cadets are trained in first aid procedures, trauma response, and accident scene management — empowering them to act as first responders before emergency services arrive.
During university events, convocations, and peak traffic periods, our cadets assist in orderly traffic management on and around the FUNAAB campus.
We extend our safety education to secondary schools in Ogun State, planting road safety consciousness in younger generations before they become road users.
Weekly training sessions include physical drills, road safety legislation, public speaking, and simulation exercises to keep cadets sharp and mission-ready.
FUNAAB Command cadets regularly compete in state and national NSC competitions, representing the university with distinction in safety knowledge and cadet excellence.
Leadership Speaks
It is with great pride and deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the official portal of the Nigeria Safety Cadet Corps, FUNAAB Command. Our corps stands as a beacon of discipline, service, and road safety consciousness within the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and beyond.
Every cadet who wears this uniform carries the weight of a nation's roads — and the hope of safer journeys for all Nigerians. We do not merely wear uniforms; we embody a commitment to saving lives, changing minds, and building a road safety culture that will outlast our time on this campus.
To prospective cadets: we invite you to join a movement that matters. To our serving members: your dedication continues to inspire. Together, Safety First — Safety For All.
As Chairman of the Grand Cadet Marshals, I extend warm greetings to every friend, member, and well-wisher of our noble corps. The Grand Cadet Marshals serve as the guardian pillars of this command — mentoring the next generation of road safety leaders and upholding the standards that define our organisation.
Road safety is not a campaign; it is a culture. And culture is built one cadet, one community, one campus at a time. The work we do here at FUNAAB resonates far beyond our gates — in the homes, the roads, and the hearts of the communities we serve.
I encourage every student to explore membership, embrace our values, and become an agent of change on Nigeria's roads. The corps awaits you.
